We just recently celebrated Madison's second birthday. It is so true when people tell you that your kids grow up so fast. I remember, in detail, the day she was born. I can't believe that my little girl is no longer a baby...she is a toddler.

The girls got to wear make-up!
To celebrate, we took a weekend trip to Tahoe. With us, we had two friends from Blain's class as well as the Litvachuck family. Blain's classmate Alex, his wife and good friend Veronica and their two girls Maggie and Julia. Julia is Madison's best friend and to spend the weekend with them was so much fun. We drove all night Friday and on Saturday while all the guys went snowboarding, us girls had some birthday fun. Madison and Julia in the snow!
Julia and Alex
While Veronica made lunch; Julia, Madison and I played in the snow. It was fresh and soft and neither girls had ever been to the snow before, so this was such a special treat for them. After a lunch of apples, bananas, grapes, hard-boiled eggs, mac and cheese and quesadilla; the girls took a nap. During that time Veronica and I decorated the cabin with balloons and signs and made the cake and brownies. When the guys returned, we had dinner at a nearby casino and came back to the cabin for cake and presents. Madison got to take a bubble bath with Julia and then it was off to bed! We drove home the next morning. It was a quick trip, but well worth all the driving! Madison got to spend her birthday with her best friend and she got to play in the snow for the first time! I am really looking forward to seeing her continue to grow and see new things and make new friends.
