Emily Swinging.

They have finally put a baby swing in at the park across the street and we took full advantage of it! Emily had a great time soaring through the air and Madison loved being able to push her.

Emily sat up!

Emily held herself up for just a few seconds this past week...and I got a quick pic of it!

Madison had a great weekend of laying with Daddy while he played with her hair, putting on make-up and watching a movie while laying on top of the couch.

Emily's Update...

Emily had her 6 month check up yesterday! She is 17 lbs 1 oz and 26 inches long! She also got 3 shots but she was a trooper! We now have until her next appointment to get her physical developments back on track, otherwise she will be referred to an Occupational Therapist. She has been behind since the beginning with holding her head up and grabbing for objects.

I was so sure she would need to start therapy this month, but the doctor said she saw enough of an improvement that we didn't need to worry yet. She isn't rolling over yet and that wouldn't be too big of a deal if she were at least trying...but she isn't. She is grabbing for objects, but is not transferring that object from one hand to the next which she should be doing. Again, doctor said no need to worry since she is making progress (just slowly).

So now is when I ask that you keep Emily in your prayers! The doctor said that the reason for the delay could be tied to a possible clavical (spelling?) fracture upon birth, but the xrays taken were unclear and she didn't want to have Emily take them again! If you could pray for her development: rolling over, sitting up on her own, grabbing and transferring objects, etc. We would appreciate it!

Please help!

I am need of help! Blain and I got this really pretty comforter set a few days ago. A 4pc Cal King set for $50.00...such a steal as Cal King sets usually run anywhere from 200-350 dollars! But now, the curtains don't match! And because we have red everywhere else and that's what I'm used too, I'm not sure what color/pattern curtains I should get to match a royal/plum color. So I need advice, suggestions, do and don'ts...I need HELP!!!

Our Valentine's Day!

We had a great Valentine's Day this year! Because of the rain, we couldn't spend the day outside, but we did hang around the house and just spend the time together.

Goodies I left out for Blain and the girls! Emily got a teeshirt, Blain recieved some truffles and Madison got some tattoos, head bands and priness candies.I made pancakes for breakfast! For Madison, I made them pink and heart shaped!
My sweetheart!

Our tattoos!

Blain got us flowers! Left to Right: I got red roses, Emily got yellow roses and Madison got white and pink carnations.

Chocolate Covered Strawberries! So yummy!

Cupcakes that Madison helped me make!

This little girl is such a big helper! And she wants to do it all by herself!

Today, she is 6 months old...

Emily is 6 months old today! These past 6 months have been emotional, tiring, unpredictable and so wonderful! One big thank you goes out to everyone (family and friends) who helped us transition into becoming a family of 4. If it was through providing meals or just prayers and support, all of it was so greatly appreciated. And while I think it took a few months to really get comfortable with having two kids and balancing all that needed to be done, I think that now I have a pretty good handle on it all and have become great at multi-tasking!
What do I think has been the biggest lifesaver? The fact that both girls really like each other! Madison can get Emily to laugh when I can't and she has never once been mean or aggressive to Emily. The moment Emily starts to fuss...Madison runs over to her saying "I'm comin' Emily, it's okay!" and that is just a reminder of the bond that has already formed between them.
So Happy 6 Month Birthday my baby...I love you more than I can say.

"You're like my own little housewife..."

"You're like my own little housewife..." That's what Blain told me when he came home last night and saw me sewing away! I learned how to make curtains from my Bubba yesterday and I had so much fun doing so!
My Bubba and Granddad were here just before 10 am. While GD and Madison went for a walk and out to the park; Emily, Bubba and I went over to Wal-Mart and got the fabric and curtain rods (the rods we got were $1.50 each...what a deal!).

The next 3 hours were filled with fabric, thread, ironing and the sound of the sewing machine just going and going and going. The whole process was much easier than I thought and Bubba was a great teacher! She walked me through Madison's curtains and after they left, I made Emily's. They look great in the rooms and I am filled with such pride and accomplishment for not only finishing something, but for making them myself!

Ahh, what a day!
